Two 12mo. volumes untrimmed. 212;225 pp. Publisher's advertisements are bound-in at the start of the first volume and at the end of the second volume 4 and 8 pp. respectively. Among the titles on offer are Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Jane Austen's Emma which is listed as "in press." Contemporary publisher's binding: dun paper boards brick linen back with paper label. Early and possibly contemporary ink ownership Geo. A. Botts and a mid-twentieth century bookseller's label Claitor's of Baton Rouge LA on front pastedown in each volume. Bindings show general rubbing and soiling are sunned on spines and the labels are abraded and nearly illegible. Volume 1 is missing the rear fly-leaf and a blank and one leaf p. 103/4 is torn but without loss. Text is quite clean but for a couple of foxed leaves in each volume. A very good and sound copy in contemporary bindings. Rare. unknown books
