First Edition of the first study of the cartilage changes in achondroplasia with 6 partly coloured plates after drawings of the author. Eduard Kaufmann 1860-1831 was on staff at the Pathologischen Institut when he "specified that the deformity occurred as a result of a disturbance in the growth raste of skeletal cartilage. Because of this interpretation he renamed it chondrodystrophia. This name has been more acceptable than the older term achondroplasia since it better describes the lesion as a disturbance in the growth of cartilage rather than an absence of it". 187914677London: C. Kegan Paul and Co. 1879. First Edition. Hardcover. Fair in No Dust Jacket dust jacket. A somewhat bedraggled copy withdrawn from a college library. The cloth is falling off the spine but the binding is still sound. The pages are age-toned although not brittle. The text is clean and free of markings other than library stampings along the edges. As a reading copy this will do fine and the topic is certainly interesting! I've heard of Robert Owen and Fourniet but Marlo Proudhon Lassalle Basiliade this is definitely a book for the scholar!; Ex-library . C. Kegan Paul and Co. hardcover
