Reproductions of the illuminated manuscript paintings and initials of the Psalter of Pope Paul III evidently by Vincent Raymond. Raymond who was active during the mid 16th century was named by Paul III the official Illuminator to the Papal Court - he is the only person known to have held this position. While the manuscript reproduced here is signed only by the copyist Fredrico Mario de Pérouse the author of the essay preceding the plates makes a strong argument for Raymond's responsibility for the paintings.
