Meisterhaft und sehr hübsch gesetzte Vergil-Ausgabe mit dem lateinischen Originaltext, der durch Zeilennummern erschlossen wird, auf die sich der in zwei Spalten darunter anschließende Kommentar bezieht. Die von A. Falger nach Schmitt gestochene Tafel zeigt sauber und in leuchtenden Farben kolorierte Beispiele aus Vergil-Handschriften, dem Schönborn-Vergil in Bamberg u. a.: "Specimina Scripturarum ad editionem P. Virgilii Maronis operum a J. H. Jaeck Bibl. Bamb. Praefecto, adhibitarum." Heynes "Handausgabe" erschien erstmals 1816: ?Der Text ist nach der Florenzer Handschrift sorgfältiger verbessert. Im Commentar nahm er manche Anmerkung aus der grösseren Ausgage Heynes auf. Besondere Sorgfalt ist auch auf die Vergleichung und Berichtigung der Beweisstellen gewendet. Der Index ist von Ruperti bedeutend vermehrt? (Schweiger 1183). Die große Ausgabe Heynes war bereits 1767-75 in Leipzig erschienen. Nur etwa 3 Seiten mit wenigen Bleistiftanstreichungen, sonst ein kaum fleckiges, sehr sauberes und frisches Exemplar ? eine schöne Lese- und Studienausgabe.Schweiger 1185; Ebert II, 1048.
