1924WRCLIT75177Paris: L'Edition d'Art 1924. Octavo. Full stiff vellum the upper board hand painted with an elaborate frame of intertwined devices in red and black separating small circular vignettes of birds and heart devices repeated in a modified fashion on the spine devices with highlights in gold and a central vignette of a sailing ship on the rear board t.e.g. wallet fore- edges. A bit of slight rubbing but moderately well preserved internally fine. Later edition. The binding was attributed by a previous owner to art nouveau exponent Charles Septier although it is not signed by him. However a small ink signature and date appears on the front top vellum turn-in - "Henry de Bertier June 1926" - and may be either an ownership marking or just as likely the identification of the artist.
