Illustrated by Charles Picart le Doux with nine pictorial illustrations hors-texte and 21 headpieces in chiaroscuro style wood engravings with stipple effect with generous use of the roulette. Picart le Doux was a decorator and like Lurcat was engaged in the modern revival of tapestry design.
