Provenance / Provenienz / From the library of: Friedrich Georg Julius Heinrich Freiherr von Lasberg 19. Juni 1766 in Braunschweig; 9. März 1839 in Düsseldorf war ein preußischer Offizier und Landrat. Der Protestant Friedrich von Lasberg war ein Sohn des Oberforstmeisters Moritz Franz Adolf Freiherr von Lasberg und dessen Ehefrau Sophia Dorothea geborene von Pestel. 1781 trat er als Fahnenjunker dem Regiment von Wunsch zu Prenzlow bei. Dort wurde er 1786 Fähnrich 1787 Sekondelieutenant 1797 Premierlieutenant und Inspektionsadjutant später Stabskapitän 1800 Wirklicher Kapitän und 1804 noch Major. Nachdem er 1808 aus preußischen Diensten verabschiedet worden war trat er als Bataillonschef in westfälische Dienste wo er 1809 Major sowie 1810 Oberst und Kommandeur wurde. Neben der 1813 erfolgten Beförderung zum Brigadegeneral wurde er zum Gouverneur der Pagen ernannt. Nach der Völkerschlacht bei Leipzig und dem Ende des Königreichs Westphalen trat Lasberg am 13. Dezember 1813 erneut in die preußische Armee ein wo er im Rang eines Obersts und Regimentskommandeurs eingestellt wurde. Mit Allerhöchster Kabinettsorder AKO vom 3. Oktober 1815 pensioniert wurde Lasberg zum 1. Mai 1816 zunächst kommissarisch zum Landrat des Kreises Düsseldorf ernannt seine definitive Ernennung folgte zu Beginn des Jahres 1817. Nach etwas mehr als 21 Dienstjahren wurde er mit AKO vom 27. September 1837 auf eigenen Antrag zum 31. Dezember 1837 in den Ruhestand versetzt den er bereits zum 1. Dezember 1837 antrat. Friedrich von Lasberg heiratete vor 1808 Charlotte Eichler von Auritz November 1772 in Ansbach; 24. Januar 1849 in Düsseldorf Tochter des ehemaligen markgräflich ansbachischen Hofmarschalls Carl Freiherr Eichler von Auritz und dessen Ehefrau Christine geborene Freiin von Remont. Wikipedia hardcover

Following the death of his mother in April 1808 he succeeded to the English baronies of Botreaux Hungerford De Moleyns and Hastings. Isaac Weld1774-1856 was a noted writer and traveller the author of "Travels through the States of North America and the Provinces of Upper and Lower Canada during the years 17951796 and 1797" and "Illustrations of the Scenery of Killarney and the surrounding Country." He was the son of Isaac Weld d. 1824 and the grandson of the Rev. The German Job Ludolf was the first to bring the study of Etiopian subjects into a system and his present work is the first of its kind to see the light of day. It was unusal for the time to take up the study of something like the Ethiopian laguage and after Ludolfus' important philological works followed a long period of neglect which did not end till the second half of the nineteenth century when these studies were finally resumed causing them to flourish. Once part of the dictionary collection of Thomas Malin Rodgers Jr. <br/><br/>Descriptions of homonyms were published in books on French grammar since the 17th-century. The issue of disambiguation in the field of semantics or the so-called qualified ambivalences were appointed within this body of knowledge and refined over several years of lexicology study. The first dictionary of homonyms of the French language was the Dictionnaire des mots homonymes de la langue françoise 1775 by Pierre Thomas Nicolas Hurtaut and published in Paris. By the title of this manuscript we can surmise that this manuscript quotes a number of key examples from his publication. This handwritten exercise and the resulting grammar book would have been destined for students in secondary education who at the time were learning the semantics of speech in their native tongue and learning how to write them correctly as homonyms can be quite confusing. Some common French homonyms with the largest variance of meaning are and eau au aux haut os ô pp. 65-67 and ver verre vers vert vair pp. 224-225. The ambiguity of such words was tackled by classifying them into word collections and alphabetical lists all echoed in this careful undertaking. This manuscript dates to a time when there was a distinct emergence of European linguistic terminology and great interest in collecting such recorded knowledge. hardcover
