Of the entire edition 55 copies were printed on Japon Imperial of which 25 are numbered 1-25 25 lettered A-Z with an original eau forte & 5 H-C. In addition 65 copies were printed on Hollande Van Gelder of which 50 are numbered 26-75 & 15 H-C. 425 copies were printed on Arches of which 400 are numbered 76-475 & 25 H-C. In the original French. Collated each individual volume is complete. Pierre Loti was a French naval officer and novelist. He is best remembered for his exotic and travel novels. His Fleurs D'ennui or Flowers of Boredom is a colection of four shorter pieces on the melancholy adventures of a soldier. The work consists of three stories and a travel piece. His Un Jeune Officier Pauvre or a poor young officer was first published posthumously. The other work to this set is a selection of Loti's writings edited by Henri Bonnemain with a short biography of Loti. In quarter morocco bindings with gilt stamping to the spines. Morocco to Fleurs D'Ennui is a different shade of red to Pages Choisies and Un Jeune Officier Pauvre. Externally all volumes are smart with some minor rubbing to spines and paper covered boards. Internally all volumes are firmly bound. Pages are slightly age toned to edges with the odd spot throughout. Very Good Indeed Calmann-Levy unknown
