Both books have names and a date 1938 on the half title page and small labels near the bottom of the spine. Volume I has light dampstaining along the bottom of the boards but no evidence on the interior pages. Both jackets have small numbers near the bottom of the spine and both have about 1" chips at the top of the spine. Both books have eight illustrations in color and sixty four in black & white.
