Issued in conjunction with a two-day 1893 auction of these artwork pieces from the collection of Madame Denain. With a narrative introduction by Philippe Gille descriptions of the 219 lots and 17 BW plates showing some of the artwork mainly portratis or pieces of furniture. Impressive work divided into 12 parts each containing 6 plates including an engraved title-page with special subtitle. Compared to the original edition described in the Berlin Ornamentstichsammlung the present edition has somewhat larger engravings arranged one to a plate rather than two except parts 8 and 9 that have 12 plates arranged 2 per page like the original edition. In this work there are 2 additional plates not included in the original edition: a portrait of Oppenort and an unnumbered plate showing 3 designs incorporating the letter "B". Some edge wear on binding with slight rubbing on covers spine edges and along hinges. Top right corner bumped affecting the top corner of first pages. Text in French. Binding in overall very good interior in near fine condition. Tight copy in a spectacular binding. Huquier hardcover

Full marbled sheep binding spine with five raised bands set with gilt garlands decorated with double compartments adorned with gilt typographical motifs traces of rubbing on spine gilt rolls on headcaps almost completely faded triple gilt fillets framing the boards some scratches on boards marbled endpapers and pastedowns gilt edges on leading edges which show some rubbing. The work consists of 12 parts each comprising 6 engraved plates plus three engraved plates: the half-title page the title page with a portrait of Gille Marie Oppenort and finally a plate with the letter ""B"" represented three times.
