Large 4to 13 x 10 inches 3/4 cherry red morocco and marbled boards raised bands heavily gilt decorated spine compartments very good minimal wear and rubbing to tips joints and corners contents very good and bright deckled fore-edge printed on heavy bright paper. Prints two months with title pages for each frontispieces and many engraved plates. March has Ganderax's "That Ninny of a Niclou!" with plates by Guth Masson on Napoleon with plates by Flameng and others a study of "The Lackey" by Fournel with a number of plates featuring lackeys "house boys" or servants usually of African extraction "A Far off Memory" by Duviard with plates by Boutet de Monvel articles on Alphonse Francois and the Duchesse of Doudeauville with plates. April includes Rod's "His Last Idyl" with plates by Rejchan "The Seamy Side of History" an article on professional beauties Pingaud's "A Courtier Under Louis XVI" with plates by Vigee-Lebrun and others other articles including one on the artist Jules Breton with plates.
