Die drei Photographien entstammen dem großen Fest für den bedeutenden Verleger Wolf Jobst Siedler am 25. Januar 1986. Siedler war seit Anfang der 1960er Jahre als konservativ-kritischer Journalist Essayist und Verleger in Westberlin tätig. Insbesondere seine verlegerische Tätigkeit im eigenen Siedler Verlag machte ihn für viele Menschen in der BRD zu einem bedeutenden Zeitgenossen. Im Januar 1986 feierte Siedler seinen 60. Geburtstag mit Würdigungen in allen wichtigen Medien der westdeutschen Öffentlichkeit. Die Verlagsgruppe Bertelsmann lud für Sonnabend den 25.01.1986 zu einem Abendessen Ort des Empfangs war das damalige Ägyptische Museum in West-Berlin Östlicher Stülerbau Schloßstraße. Für den Empfang zu Ehren des zeitgenössisch bedeutenden Verlegers wurde eine lange Tafel durch den ganzen Saal vorbereitet desweiteren ca. 8-10 Rundtische für mehrere Personen. Unter den Gästen waren zahlreiche Kollegen aus Verlagen und Journalismus West-Berliner und bundesdeutsche Politiker Publizisten und Wissenschaftler die zeitgenössisch - für die westdeutsche Öffentlichkeit vor Ende des Kalten Krieges und der deutschen Wiedervereinigung - von eminenter Bedeutung waren. Auch ein Blick auf die Sitzordnung für den Abend ist überaus reizvoll: denn rechts neben dem konservativen Verleger saß der ehemalige Bundeskanzler Willy Brandt links von ihm der wohl gewichtigste Bankier der alten Bundesrepublik Hermann Abs. An der langen Tafel saßen auch die berühmten Verlegerkollegen nebeneinander. Hier waren Siegfried Unseld Ernst Klett und Heinrich Maria Ledig-Rowohlt dicht beieinander. Die drei Original-Photographien zeigen Willy Brandt in verschiedenen Ansichten. Die erste Ansicht zeigt Brandt sitzend an der großen Tafel mit gesenktem scheinbar in sich gekehrtem Blick. Das zweite Bild zeigt den Altkanzler stehend und im Profil neben einer älteren Frau möglicherweise auch eine Politikerin. In der dritten Photographie ist Brandt neben Wolf Jobst Siedler welcher in diesem Moment eine Ansprache hält und Hermann Abs zu sehen. Hier stützt er das Gesicht mit der linken Hand. Abs und Brandt sind sichtlich amüsiert von den Worten des Verlegers. Sehr interessante Perspektiven auf den bedeutendsten SPD-Altkanzler und großen Zeitgenossen am Rande des Siedler-Jubiläums! unknown
