Plates remain clean and bright. Text block is sunned and foxed. Boards have one faint spot of soiling to fore edge of front board some white spots to lower edge of rear board and light rubbing to lower edge. Moderate bumping and fraying to corners and ends of spine. Binding is tight spine is cocked. Dust jacket has large closed tear starting at fore edge of front cover down toward spaceship image moderate open tear near title at top edge and heavy rubbing and chipping to edges of spine. Cracking to edges of spine near center of spine and tail previous owner's tape repair to headcap and moderate to heavy rubbing creasing chipping and closed tear to edges corners and ends of spine. Dust jacket is covered in a protective mylar jacket. The Viking Press unknown
