Eugene Viollet-le-Duc was an influential French architect and author known for restoring many prominent medieval landmarks in France particularly those damaged during the French Revolution. Included among his major works are the restorations of Notre-Dame de Paris the Basilica of Saint-Denis the medieval walls of the city of Carcassonne. He also planned much of the construction of the Statue of Liberty. A two volume complete set. Re-backed in crushed morocco.
