This copy is VG with brown cover decorated in black and gold gilt with the gilt swan 'The Swan of Marbach<strong><strong>'</strong></strong> <em>Der Schwan von Marbach</em> whichwas Schiller's famous literary nickname. All edges are gilt. Very minor bumping and minor fraying. <em>Prachtausgabe</em> splendor edition. One of the illustrators is Ersten Deutschen Künstlern a foremost German artist. The publisher put together a committee of Germany's top nineteenth-century romantic painters historic illustrators and wood-carvers. These artists individually illustrated specific poems scenes and dramatic moments throughout the volume. The pictures are incredible.
