Anglo-Irish Gaelic scholar and critic Percival Arland Ussher 1899-1980 was renowned for his wit combined with critical insight "Thirty years ago to praise James Joyce was an act of daring; today it needs an almost equal daring to criticise him.". Donleavy and wrote the Introduction to the American edition of "The Ginger Man." This is a Fine copy of the Second Printing of the First Edition. Blue cloth binding with gilt title on the spine. 160 pages clean and bright.
