It has plain covers and gold embossing on the spine. This 1941 edition mimics the original 1937 Viking edition but with brown covers instead of beige. It also has a mistake on the copyright page stating that it was 1939 by John Steinbeck not 1937. 1939 was the initial Sun Dial edition. <br /> <br /> Brown boards edgeworn. The book is in good condition. Darkening to the top of the board edges that are also bent. Sunning to the spine with bright silver titling. Small stain to the top edge of the textblock that gently seeps into some of the margins. The textblock is gently toned largely clean unmarked and complete.
