Part love-story fantasy dream-scape even time travel this haunting work became all the more important after its author's untimely death. Beautifully and startlingly illustrated with both black and white and full-plate colour illustrations this book is in fine condition and even the dedication is charming and appropriately touching. This is a rare example of French publishing at its best. The book and jacket are both without marks or foxing with only a little rubbing to the jacket. Éditions G.P. unknown

Scarce dust jacket in acceptable condition with hard cover in good condition from the collection of Ian Angus former librarian at King's College London and deputy librarian at University College London ownership pencilled to FEP. Jacket is notably shelfworn and in two halves with creasing and wear to cover edges corners and folds. Open tears are present at spine head and foot rear jacket base and along the head. Chips and nicks present and taped repairs are noted. However the John Milton coloured illustrations to front and rear are unmarked with the original colours vibrant and true. Boards have wear to edges and corners slightly bowed at head and bumped corners. Pageblock is tanned and discoloured this leading into pastedowns and endpapers with light tanning to textblock edges. Within the pages are firmly bound and the content is unmarked and beautifully illustrated throughout with Minton's b/w images. More photographs available upon request. CN. Hardcover. Good/Acceptable.
