It was the basis for the famous 1927 Al Jolson film and for two further remakes: one in 1952 directed by Michael Curtiz with Danny Thomas and Peggy Lee; and another in 1980 directed by Richard Fleischer with Neil Diamond and Laurence Olivier. hardcover
