Text in between the Small Map and 11 various sized vignettes/engravings reads : - " The Northern and Eastern parts of the county of Cardigan are chiefly mountainous and barren but the tract near the sea is under tillage. There are also in this county several small lakes furnishing eats and fish. The chief town Cardigan has a good coasting trade and a salmon fishery. Aberystwyth is much resorted to for the purpose of bathing. The most important seat in the county is Hafod a few miles from which is a memorable bridge over falls on the river Mynach. ".
