A very good copy in original cloth spine mellowed white lettering to spine faded light rubbing to the extremities. Twain’s adventure through the west told from the viewpoint of Buffalo Bill’s horse. One might call it BLACK BEAUTY with an attitude. He wrote the story to protest bull fighting at the request of actress Minnie Maddern Fiske who was campaigning to end the sport in Spain.
