17191933Newark NJ 1917-1919. 13 pages. 4 pages from Delpark Inc. a NY-based clothing company seeking a patent to manufacture a new shirt collar. Contacting a solicitor to investigate the patents of its creator. Delpark seeks in these documents to purchase the collar's patent from the inventor Edward J. Quigley and his partner William H. Stevens. 7 pages delineate the agreement between the two parties permitting Delpark to make and sell the collar. 2 pages are a letter from Stevens previous to the agreement warning Delpark of infringing on the royalties of Quigley's invention. An article in The Haberdasher January 1921 page 67 Turning a Byway Into a Buy Way - reports of the shop Edward J. Quigley & Co. is located at Astor Court a private thoroughfare beside the Waldorf-Astoria Mr. Quigley and his vice-president of the firm William H. 1794030271Paris: Convention Nationale 1794. Disbound. Good . 19pp pamphlet issued by the Convention Nationale regarding the payment to soldiers defending France. Collot-D'Herbois was a playwright actor and essayist who was a member of The Committee on Public Safety Comites de Salut Public during the reign of terror. An attempt was made on his life in 1794 around the time of a similar attempt on the life of Robespierre that enhanced his reputation immeasurably. Mild general soiling and foxing but legible and only shows light wear at edges. Undated cas. 1794. The complete work is rare complete and had over 200 plates and was issued in parts this comprises plates 1-6 of parts 1-3 of Abrege de l'Histoire Universelle along with 1-6 part 1 of Sacrée along with 7-12 of part 2. Text blocks - VG faint sporadic foxing/D10-D12 has paper loss in margins does not affect text. 2 volumes. 12mo. <br/><br/>Of a Whiggish political bent the Junius' letters attacked many of George III's reign including the monarch himself. The first Junius letter appeared in Woodfall's 'Public Advertiser' in Nov 1768 and they were published periodically through 1772. The original author of the letters has never been satifactorily determined though current scholarship attributes them to Sir Philip Francis denied by Woodfall a clerk in the War Office during the years Junius' letters were appearing in the 'Public Advertiser.' Per Lowndes 'A copy of this edition with MS notes and corrections by Sir Philip Francis sold at the sale of Sir Philip Francis's library at Evans's in 1838 for 12£ 12s and was bought in the name of Armstrong for Mr H.
