The joints are somewhat age brittle. Contents with occasional minor blemish but generally clean. Nonetheless a very good copy.</p><p><strong>Notes:</strong> Duhamel du Monceau's manual is considered a milestone in the literature of naval architecture and shipbuilding. This spectacular training manual for the construction of ships was written by the founder of naval engineering and architecture at the Louvre in 1741 and is considered a landmark volume in the literature of naval architecture and shipbuilding identified as the first practical manual in the field.
