Second edition "continued to the end of the last session of Parliament 1713" which adds an addenda to the first edition of 1708. It was one of the earliest books on the subject. According to Sweet & Maxwell the first studies were Freedom of Elections to Parliament 1680 and Observations Concerning the Regulation of Elections for Parliament 1689 a work attributed to the Earl of Shaftsbury.
