The prior year the company issued their first catalogue with the same pagination. The catalogue begins with images of complete bathrooms with each element specified. The later part of the catalogue lists individual elements with dimensions and prices. Standard Sanitary worked with Chasmar-Winchell Press to design this and their other elegant catalogues. Internally fine. Original wrapper printed in black and brown has one small adhesion mark. Otherwise near fine. OCLC locates no copies of this and three copies of the 1901 printing; not in Romaine. This retrospective publication includes illustrations of furnishings by early luminaries of Scandinavian design including Ole Wanscher Kaj Gottlob Mogens Lassen Frits Schegel Thoresen Lassen and Flemming Lassen. <p>This is a presentation copy inscribed and signed by Andreas Jeppe A.J. Iversen 1888-1979 the influential designer and cabinetmaker who paved the way for Danish modern style. The inscription reads: 'Hr. Ingeniør Bennike Med en hjertelig Tak for De Opgaver De har givet mig og den Tillid De derved viste mig. Deres A.J. One such advertisment in Adelaide's 'Evening Journal' for 19 December 1908 advertises Wearever cooking utensils and recommends readers 'Send for New Illustrated Catalogue' others tout the health benefits of aluminium utensils including the claim that it helps avoid appendicitis!. An index is mounted inside the front cover; information sheets about availability and suitability of shades are mounted on the verso of two of the panels. Folder slightly marked and rubbed with a few bumps to the edges at the rear; the silk samples are in uniformly fine condition. One of the printed information sheets states that 'All shades on this color card are stocked at Adelaide depot' establishing a clear Australian connection with what was in its time and a very long time that was the largest silk factory in the world. Oblong album 21 x 30.5 cm. 38 pages; with 52 original labels or wrappers pasted-in each with a handwritten annotation on the leaf not the label with the name of the product including weight and price. FIRST EDITION. A handsome salesman's sample album that showing the varied offerings of the firm of Nougats Arnaud Soubeyran. Products represented include fruit nougats chocolate pistachios . all with very beautiful labels including one illustrated by Alain Saint-Ogan. The labels are striking in their design many with electric colors and colorful ribbons. "The history of this great house located in Montelimar north of Avignon begins in 1837 with a marriage between Mr. Arnaud confectioner and a Miss Soubeyran. Together they launched nougat production on a scale exceeding that of any single pastry chef. Their goal was to position their high-end confectionery by employing the best regional raw materials" company website. The firm persists and includes a Nougat Museum in the town of Montelimar. Some light dusting to some of the leaves and the labels but mostly sound and clean. The colors are unfaded. In full green alligator-patterned cloth tied on cord. Gilt titled on the front board. A combination trade catalogue and recipe collection both for confectioners gingerbread makers and candy manufacturers. The catalog contains illustrations of different types of ice cream spoons scoops ice cream molds molds for marzipan molds for small pastries and packing and ornamental paper and also all of the equipment large and small for fine cake and confection work. Decorative elements are included such as small gnomes. The recipes at the rear are credited to J. Reimann editor of the Austrian Confectioner's journal. In the front matter and again at the rear the company states that this will be the last large-format catalogue they will issue and that price updates will be offered in the future so this illustrated catalogue should be held for future reference. ~ Internally clean and bright. Original gray linen decorated and titled in black and white with an attractive image of a young confectioner presiding over a stand mixer while holding an elaborate sugar sculpture on a tray. The catalogue appears to have lived on a kitchen shelf with perhaps a book and a canister upon it as there is a dark stain smoke which has made a rectangle and circle design on the front panel.
