Laid in is a handwritten note in holograph ink from a John Dennett to "David" referring to chapters 9-13 of the book and author Bohannan. Dennett also describes the war presumably in Vietnam and how it differs from the war in the Philippines and guerrillas who "sometimes attack and sometimes stand and fidget" and who "are much better armed. This may however be only an indication of how late in the day it is here." The letter is dated May 21 with no stated year but presumably mid 1960s.
