A genealogical study on the Hayward family and their surrounding allied families the Burbecks Wires and MacClintocks.The work is dedicated to Harry Taft Hayward 1868-1930 this work published in the year of his death compiled by his wife Edith Cassandra Wires Hayward.Harry Hayward was a well known woolen manufacturer based in Massachusetts taking over the family business from his father enlarging the size of the mill by three times.An interesting study on affluent American families at the end of the nineteenth and beginning of the twentieth centuries. Some uneven toning to covers with a small splattered stain toward bottom corner of front cover. Small bump to bottom corner of covers and text block. Mild age toning throughout. Binding sound but with some mild rusting to staple. A very uncommon type catalogue for the typeface 'Peignot' which was designed by the poster artist A.M. Cassandre. A sans-serif font the typeface is most notable in that it does not have a traditional lowercase but instead combines small uppercase characters with lowercase. This colorful catalogue is full of examples and facsimiles that show various ways that the typeface can be used including ordinary text magazine advertisements book covers and menus. . First Edition. Two small closed tears at the bottom of the loose front endpaper a few smudges some transfer of ink from posters onto facing pages.The poster illustrations are unmarked and intact. The original wrappers and plastic spiral binding have been replaced with blue cloth hardcover library binding and the original holes for the spiral binding have been reinforced with white cloth tape.
