Van Dine the fourth of twelve Philo Vance mystery novels. The body of man nicknamed "Cock Robin" is found at an archery range with an arrow through the heart and a chess bishop left as a clue. Basil Rathbone's only portrayal of the stylish New York P.I. Philo Vance. He would take on the role of Sherlock Holmes for which he is best known beginning in 1939.<br/><br/>Beige titled wrappers with M.G.M. label dated AUGUST 10 1929 with credits for author S.S. Van Dine and director Nick Grinde. Title page integral with first page with credits for screenwriter Lenora J. Coffee. 135 leaves with last page of text numbered 135. Collection of 8 studio still photographs from the 1977 film. <br/><br/>A young orphan raised by his dysfunctional hillbilly family befriends a goofy dragon in this live-action animated musical. It was the first animated Disney film in which none of the legendary "nine old men" were involved in the animation process. Ken Anderson created the beloved dragon loosely modeling him after historical Asian imagery. Upon release the film was criticized for its composite animation and underdeveloped plot. However it was nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Song and Original song score. <br/><br/>Shot on location in California. <br/><br/>10 x 8 inches. Poor with a synopsis typed on the verso of three a stamp to the verso of three and light warping overall.
