He published the popular Grammar of Astrology before first issuing these tables in 1834. We find no copies of either edition currently offered in the trade Jan. 2016 with only 8 copies housed institutionally and only one copy of this edition held by the Univ. of Manchester Library. Ontiveros published a series of these almanacs as well as other works on weather prediction apparitions and manifestations of the Virgin Mary and others. This iteration as stated in the preface is published in the 2nd year of the new Spanish Constitution during the Trienio Liberal year 14 of the reign of Ferdinand VII year 290 of the Miraculous Apparition of Our Lady de Guadalupe and other important dates generally following Roman Martyrology. <br /> <br /> <br /> Lists phases of the moon with illustrations month by month astronomical signs weather patterns feast and holidays etc. A fascinating and scarce object from the tail end of Colonial Mexico. . Front board is detached rear board is nearly detached with heavy wear and chipping to edges of both boards. A Binding copy which contains the four fold-out plates the first of which is also detached. Text in good condition thought the last addition to text dated 1850 and titled "Description of Oxley's Pantometric Planispheres of the Zodiac" has a 2" brown stain/deterioration at upper gutter.
