Dance clubs & restaurants among other public gatherings often employed in-house photographers to entertain clientele a brief mid-century custom foreshadowing the automated "souvenir" photos of today's amusement parks. An example in cinema perhaps unparalleled comes from Cleo Moore in "Over-Exposed" 1956 a blackmail noir about a NY "flash girl" at a restaurant who extorts everyone she meets. History's similar character: the cigarette girl. Club Rhapsody: gray folder shapely silhouette logo 317 Riverway Niagara Falls NY advertisements seen early as 1948 curious brunette in heart vignette 4.75 x 7 inches laid into stapled paper frame. Sky Club: cream folder full-panel logo 1630 N. Harlem Ave Chicago Ill. now a car rental business but the original site boasted a tasty lamb entree two couples seated men flanking women one a military man both men sport cigarette packs on the table 5 x 7 inches laid into die-cut rear panel. Names below each patron "Bernie Ev Alice Bobbie."Very Good Plus overall photos a bit wavy light foxing. Self published unknown

Description: This is a bound collection with tabbed printed dividers probably to be assembled over time by the user from material issued by the aircraft supply business known as Sacramento Sky Ranch. However there is no way tell how much might have eventually been assembled here -- not all the tabbed sections have material there is nothing in the Engines section. The section for Carburetors includes instruction manuals for several different models of Marvel-Schebler aircraft carburetors. The section on magnetos has a great deal of material on Bendix and Case aircraft magnetos: overhaul instructions parts catalogs etc and service bulletins. The Modifications section primarily contains Lycoming Service Instructions. The 1960 date I use here is taken from the various service bulletins. The Sacramento Sky Ranch closed its doors in 2013.
