Folio 33 by 24 cm. xiv 2 306 4 239 13 pp. Also two engraved half-titles with illustration of tiger and with 40 hand-colored plates 20 in each volume. Contemporary dark green straight-grained full morocco binding with ornate gilt border decoration -- a repeat of vines and leaves contained within ruled lines and also a blindstamped band within this one. Five raised bands of spine with ruled lines denoting the raised areas and four gilt impressed vignettes of deer. Professionally rebacked both volumes with original spines retained and attached in a manner that the work is as inconspicuous as possible. The gilt decoration -- floral borders ruled edges turn-ins spine illustrations lettering has spots that are dulled but generally the gold remains bright.
