First edition. 7 1/2" x 5 1/4" in over-sized color pictorial wrappers featuring a pantheon of women above the Sphinx and the Great Pyramid in Egypt and with original glassine dust jacket. 16 pp. Color illustrations throughout. Sewn at spine with red silk ribbon. A very scarce and beautifully printed Victorian catalog for women's shoes. The company specifically designed shoes for young women that were graceful shapely and easy to the foot to make it a pleasure for walking in the fall and winter. These styles include the Rambler the Cresto the Waverly the Ardsley the Carmen the Hy-Tide and the Dixie. This catalog features the latest company styles shown against the backdrop of color cover art of shoes worn by the Queen of Sheba Helen of Troy Cleopatra Pocahontas Betsy Ross and others. Founded originally in 1893 by Julian future Treasury Secretary under Roosevelt and Truman and Kokenge a Kentucky shoe manufacturer the company transferred operations to Columbus Ohio in 1932 and operated until 1975. Light soiling light bumping to corners and with light wear to the extremities. Glassine dust jacket with 1/2" x 1/2" chip to bottom edge of front and rear cover along with minor chipping and wear to edges. Very good. The H.W. Weisbrodt Co., n.d. [ca 1900]. unknown

Elliott Grass Valley Nevada County California" in pencil front endpaper; rough sketch of a map in pencil back pastedown showing east coast states near and including New York; leading bottom corner tip of text block a bit chewed. Overall binding is solid and the bulk of the text relatively clean. Appears to be rare in the original. Without music: tunes for part of the songs indicated by title. .
