The first titled "College Prospectus / Est. 1920. Prof. Jadhav's College of Tailoring and Cutting" is dated January 1932 and is bound in printed peach wraps. The covers are soiled and the edges darkened with chipping to the spine and to the bottom corner of the front cover. 52 unnumbered pages with most of the text printed in Hindi and with several black & white illustrations. The second titled "Est. 1920. Prospectus. Prof. Jadhav's College of Tailoring and Cutting" is dated August 1932 and is bound in stapled light greenish white wraps. The covers are lightly creased and the edges lightly darkened. 18 unnumbered pages with the text printed in English and with black & white illustrations. There is a minor tiny tear to the top edge of the pages. Both are in good condition. <p>Laid in is a page from the August 2 1928 issue of "The Tailor and Cutter" with a brief article about Prof. Jadhav titled "An Indian Tailor". Also laid in is a mimeographed "Syllabus for Tailoring and Cutting Classes" reproduced on 5 sheets of 12-7/8 inch high by 8 inch wide lightweight paper and dated 1932.<p>RARE. This catalogue includes samples for dress shirts designed with a button-down collar modeled on the popular Duke of Kent collar which sat further up on the neck than the Windsor and has long been a favorite of London’s German Street custom shirtmakers. Pilgrim Brand had a very long and successful life as a brand of Sears clothing for men first appearing on men’s socks in 1905 and over the next 60 years extended to men’s shirts ties underwear and even children’s clothing. Pilgrim hit its’ high-water mark in the 1940s when Sears sold Tru-Point Royal Ascot Royalton and Nobility men’s shirts under the Pilgrim label. The name was retired in 1964.
