A majority of the plates will have descriptive leaves. Plates and descriptive leaves are hand-numbered in pencil to upper right corners--with some pencil numbering to acutal plate. Plate numbering is chronolgoical with many gaps/missing. Plates were numbered by previous bookseller; plates were kept in original porfolios but we have discarded the portfolios due to excessive damage. The same text and plates were published at the same time in a larger edition folio size usually described as the 'grande edition'. The only difference is in the size of the page and color of the paper. Plates are printed from the same lithograph plates but in the 'grande edition' they are on titled paper. Hiler & Hiler p. 732.
