With lead actor Sal Mineo's name in holograph ink on two revision leaves and his character's name in pencil on the front wrapper. <br/><br/>Laid in is a small leaf with holograph ink notations including the name of director Lou Foster actors Fess Parker and Jerome Courtland and characters White Bull and Captain Keogh. Parker was originally hired for the role of Keogh but refused second billing and was replaced by Philip Carey. Jerome Courtland played the role of Lieutenant Henry Nowlan in the film.<br/><br/>Based on David Appel's 1951 novel "Comanche: Story of America's Most Heroic Horse" about the bond between a young Sioux boy and the titular horse who end up on opposite sides of the Battle of Little Big Horn. <br/><br/>Set in Montana Territory and shot on location in Oregon.<br/><br/>Tan titled wrappers noted as FINAL SHOOTING SCRIPT on the front wrapper rubber-stamped copy No. 112 and production No. 5812 dated APRIL 9 1958 with credits for director and screenwriter LEWIS FOSTER. Based on the short story "Private Pettigrew's Girl" by Dana Burnet and published in "The Saturday Evening Post" on September 14 1918. Copy belonging to an unknown crew member with holograph pencil annotations throughout. <br/><br/>Jimmy Stewart plays an idealistic soldier who convinces a Broadway star Margaret Sullavan to pretend they're dating in order to impress his other soldier friends. Meanwhile Sullivan's manager Walter Pidgeon has always been in love with her and objects to the pair's closeness even as they decide to get married before Stewart is shipped out to France. Stewart and Sullivan pull off surprisingly believable roles for a plot of such sickly sweetness in this their second on-screen pairing. <br/><br/>The third film based on Burnet's "Saturday Evening Post" story the first two being the 1919 George Melford silent film "Pettigrew's Girl" and Richard Wallace's part-talkie "The Shopworn Angel" 1928 starring Gary Cooper. View shows a group of nicely dressed men in top hats standing on Salt Lake City's Main Street below Third South with a parade float that features antlers and a banner for the 'Elks Eleven O'Clock Toast.' The men are standing in front of Ackerman Printing and a tavern whose signs advertises Salt Lake Brewing's Lager Beer. The Walker Mercantile building is prominent in the background. We believe this image was taken during the Salt Lake City Elks convention in August of 1902.<br/><br/>"Yesterday the opening day of the National convention of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was great. The weather was delightful not too warm and there were clouds enough to temper the rays of the sun.
