The dust jacket is Not price-clipped.
This is a great fun reading book of classic hunting stories. The book's dust jacket has lightly worn areas along its top and bottom edges has inside stains along with some light staining on its exterior bottom spine edge and in varying places on the the front scover and lastly on the front side a crease and a very slight line cut. The interior book is in Near Fine to Fine condition with the only detriment being a small spot on the exterior book's front cover probably made by a dirty fingerprint. Outside of that and the author's inscription and signature though there are no other visible extraneous markings detriments or distractions and thus all of the book's printing is in a very well-preserved and enjoyable condition and the book's sewn-in bindings remain tight and therefore are sound.
If you order this great fun read from us we will carefully wrap it up then pad and box it and mail it right away to you with both insurance and tracking on it and it will come with our genuine gratitude for your order.
Beaufort Books hardcover

1975000577Hanoi: Social Sciences Publishing House 1975. Translated title : "Bronze Dong Son Kettledrums Excavated in Vietnam". A pioneering and detailed study on the Dong Son drums excavated by government archaeologists in northern Vietnam. Emphasis is on analysis of wide variety of iconographic details that occur on the drum walls and tympanum and the resulting light that these images shed on the lives of the ancient Lac Viet peoples - the creators of the drums. The Vietnamese text is printed on 164 pp. of now browned wartime paper and remains readable but the illustrations are very clearly reproduced on high grade art matte paper and come through with excellent clarity. Line drawings of iconographic details with their inherent high contrasts make these details much more readily viewed and studied than if one were to examine photographs or the drums themselves. Text pages browned soft wrappers are sound but chipped and bearing red seal and remains of two labels. Condition typical or better than most publications from Vietnam dating to this period. Book can be hardbound in new cloth on request at modest additional cost - please enquire. Scarce and valuable primary resource on Dong Son bronze art. Text in Vietnamese. 292 pp. 11 b&w photos 196 fine line drawings map bibliography table of contents in Vietnamese and French. . First Edition. Soft Cover. Good text pages browned/Wrappers chipped and soiled. 26 x 19 cm. Social Sciences Publishing House Paperback
