Thick 8vo 1/2 contemporary black morocco many page with light foxing mostly to margins edges of board corners lightly worn light dampstain to top of many page margins. Paris: W. Coquebert 1843.<br/><br/> Second edition published without the map which was in the first edition. Author emigrated from France and served in the United States Army as assistant topographical engineer from 1817 to 1829 when he was promoted to topographical engineer. He resigned from the army in 1832. Poussin returned to France and served as French minister to the United States from 1848 to 1849.
