Illustrated grey stiff paper wrappers with blue and black lettering on the front cover. A first edition of this masterpiece work of avant-garde Russian poetry from Mikhail Kuzmin 1872-1936. The eleventh and final book of poetry from Kuzmin divided into six parts it has been seen as marking a new direction in the poet's work and a departure from Russian literary tradition. Based on the principles of free association and dream logic the style of this work has been noted to be influenced by surrealism cinema and Freudian thought. The poems contain homoerotic elements occult influences and coded references to the author's personal life. This scarce work is a comprehensive monograph on the life and early career of acclaimed Ukrainian stage and film actor Amvrosi Buchma 1891-1957. Buchma's most notable film roles are perhaps in Aleksandr Dovzhenko's "Arsenal" 1929 pictured in this book and Sergei Eisenstien's "Ivan the Terrible Pt. I & II" 1944 and 1958. He was a prominent member of the Berezil theater from 1922-1936. Issued to commemorate the 25th anniversary of his entry to the stage as a professional actor the publication is illustrated throughout with countless b/w photographic reproductions and covers the actor's work on both stage and screen.
