The plates depict the United States Capitol building images from the short stories in the magazine and sailboats. The publisher Society for Promoting Christian Knowledge was founded in 1698 and is active to this day according to the SPCK website. The society was founded in the United Kingdom this is one of their many publications intended to promote the tenets of Christianity and the faith itself.
