In 1949 she moved to Kyoto Daitokuji where she organized the Rinzai Translaton Project translators included Gary Snyder Philip Yampolsky Seizan Yanagida and Burton Watson. She was also the mother-in-law of Alan Watts. "Zen: A Religion" is a second printing from June 1958 the first printing was the prior month. "Zen: A Method for Religious Awakening" is a first printing from July 1959. "Rinzai Zen Study for Foreigners in Japan" is a first printing from April 1960. Philipp Eidmann studied for ten years in Japan was ordained as a cleric of the Nishi Hongwanji with a M.A. degree in Shin Buddhism from Ryukoku University Kyoto Japan. He was the first American to attain the academic rank of Hokyo Consular in Teaching through the Hongwanji. Eidmann published "The Unimpeded Single Way: A Brief Introduction to the Teachings of Shin Buddhism According to the Hongwanji Tradition." He published numerous articles on Buddhist doctrine and history in English Japanese Portugese and German.
