First Day of Issue" below. With the signatures of Patrick White Saul Bellow Eugenio Montale and Samuel Beckett along the bottom of the envelope. With a Shakespeare 5 cent stamp with a cancellation stamp reading 'First Day of Issue'; and a post office stamp from Stratford Conn dated Aug 14 1964. Patrick White was the first Australian author to win a Nobel for Literature; he did so in 1973. Beckett won his Nobel in 1969 Montale in 1975 and Bellow in 1976. 6 1/2 x 3 3/4". Very good.
