Bookplate of Barrett Harper Clark on front pastedown and Inscribed by the author on the front fly to Clark. Barrett Clark was a writer editor and actor who helped create theater companies that encouraged experimental American dramatists. He guided playwrights such as Eugene O'Neill Maxwell Anderson and Sidney Howard in the use of aesthetic choices characteristic of American folk drama.
