The map is in excellent condition. Minor chip to lower margin not affecting the image. <br> <br> Adam Black 1784-1874 was a Scottish publisher and politician who with his brother Charles founded the A & C Black publishing company. Inscribed on front fly leaf the author writes "The Overland Pub Co. / May 11th 1878. / Presented by the author." Green cloth over beveled boards with gilt stamped lettering and vignettes on the spine and vignette of a hunting dog and rifle on the top cover. Corners are lightly bumped and spine ends are a little wrinkled. There are a few light scuffs on cover. Lettering and decoration remain bright. There is a small circular bookseller's stamp seen on the blank verso of the front free end leaf. Volume is otherwise tight and clean. . Signed by Artist. Cloth - Hard Cover.
