Octavo 6 by 9 inches. 48 leaves including one map unbound but laid into a folding cloth box stamped with the title on the front cover. A pictorial record of the work of 14000 young men and women who joined the youth brigades in Yugoslavia after the Second World War and worked on the Brcko to Banovici rail line in early 1946. This illustrated relic of Communist propaganda depicts work on the project with mechanically reproduced photographs mounted on 47 pieces of stiff paper with captions in French Russian and English. Quite a scarce bit of railroadiana with no holdings listed in OCLC COPAC or the BNF. UCLA holds an uncatalogued copy in its UN Relief and Rehabilitation Archive. Plates very good if a bit browned from age. Folding cloth case frayed at the corners else very good.<br> (n.p.) unknown
