Collection of work from one of the premier illustrators and representatives of the 20th century gay liberation movement. This retrospective spans from 1946 to the year prior to publication 1987 by the Tom of Finland foundation---the nonprofit created in 1984 by Tom and Dirk Dehner to preserve and promote the cultural merits of erotic art.The evolution of Tom's style is shown in the graphics of leathermen bikers cowboys cops lumberjacks hardhats soldiers sailors and other studs which Tom described as drawing he'd make to arouse himself and if his own work didn't he'd have to try harder.
