Lusis: 1414 Second edition limited to 750 copies of which this is number 154.<br /><br />First published in 1900 under the title Invitation chess tournament: for masters and amateurs arranged and played at the City of London Chess Club 7 Grocer's Hall Court Poultry EC in April and May 1900 containing the full scores of the games played.<br /><br />The gathering including the masters J H Blackburne I Gunsberg F J Lee James Mason R Teichmann and L van Vliet; the amateurs were E O Jones T F Lawrence R Loman S Passmore T Physick A E Tietjen and W ward. Tiechmann scored a clear 9 1/2 one half point ahead of Gunsberg and Mason who tied for second through third. Ward captured fourth with an 8 1/2. Van Viet was 5th with 8 1/2 followed by Blackburne with a disappointing 7 1/2.
