175071005London: c 1750. An interesting small plan of the Sicilian city of Syracuse during the time it was beseiged by the Athenians during the Peloponnesian War of ancient times. There are explanatory tables with letters that correspond to features within the plan. Copperplate engraving with hand colour. 235 x 320 mm. Good condition. Folds as issued small marginal tear and part of lower right margin missing not affecting engraved surface. unknown
