Caracas Venezuela 1901-1996 the youngest member of the Circulo de Arte of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Venezuela he was only 11 years old lived in exile in the US Mexico Europe and the Caribbean until his return in the late 1940's when he became part of the intellectual and cultural circle in Venezuela. His early paintings reflect his traveling experiences and the influence other international artists had on his works at his return he paints powerful full of color and light images that are a reflection of his own country. He is remembered by his paintings of flowers sensuous feminine nudes bodegones still lifes marine scenes and landscapes.
