The New Advent Catholic Encyclopedia states that it "excited great interest at the time but is now forgotten. <br>Â Â Â Â <br>Â Â Â Â American Imprints 1837 43551 & 43552 same work but different publishers. Contemporary sheep; re-spined with cloth tape cut away over spine to show original gilt-stamped spine title. Spine cracked down center. Covers rubbed and abraded. Pp. 1522 183190 and 219226 detached from binding. Lower portion of pp. 319/320 torn away with loss of text. Heavy foxing on initial and final pages including the title-page; elsewhere only scattered instances of foxing. Ex-library with bookplate on front pastedown rubber-stamp and pressure-stamp on title-page four-digit number in ink at base of p. iii and charge card and pocket at rear. J. A.
