Commissioned on July 1 1968 the Naval Training Center Orlando Florida was established to enhance the manpower training capabilities of the United States Navy. It is not coincidential that it was established during the height of the Vietnam War which saw a significant increase in the membership of the Arms Forces. This training facility occupied the site of the former Orlando Air Force Base. Women began training in Orlando in 1972. This was published in 1980.
